KANSAS CITY, MO – AUGUST 11: Quarterback Tyler Bray /

2nd Quarter

Tyler Bray really does like holding clipboards.

More penalties.

The 2nd string defense looked every bit of a second string. As a group they looked lost. Now I’m not saying the Chiefs don’t have depth. I’m saying that depth is spotty. Plenty of guys on that 2nd string can compliment our starters. Just not eachother. However another Redzone stop and they look like the Chiefs of old.

Enter Patrick Mahomes.

ENTER PATRICK MAHOMES !!!!!!!!!

And wouldn’t you know it’s a 40 yard completion down field.

Annnnnnd there’s a flag. Cheating on Kansas City. And more cheating. And a sack. A certain individual on the offensive line had a horrible series. Two penalties and a sack allowed. Dude lost the Battle. (See what I did there).

More flags thrown, more lazy play by the defense. Not a very good quarter for the Chiefs and I don’t care because I can’t get my mind off that pass that didn’t count.

On paper the1st half recap was not pretty. The1st string looked great. The 2nd string looked 2nd stringy. A little too 2nd stringy. 8 penalties that ripped the hearts out of fans, deleting large gains and reasons to celebrate.
