The Kansas City Chiefs open the 2017 preseason against the San Francisco 49ers. We spoke to Niners Noise about what to expect.

A new season brings new blood for most teams. For the San Francisco 49ers, there are more new faces than a normal given year, with a brand new leadership structure in place in general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. Together they’ve brought in dozens of new players to help implement all new schemes, some of which will finally be on display in a game-time situation on Friday as the Niners visit the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

On the Chiefs side, it’s the first chance to see rookies like Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt and veterans like Bennie Logan and Gavin Escobar in red and gold. Chiefs fans will also be hungry to see some competitive fire (hopefully) after last year’s disappointing playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

We recently asked Peter Panacy of Niner Noise to answer some questions about the upcoming game, including who to watch on the San Fran side of things and what an outsider thinks of the Chiefs chances in 2017.
