Seth Keysor of Arrowheadpride.com joins us to discuss Chiefs rookie QB Patrick Mahomes and what his play so far in camp means moving forward.

The Kansas City Chiefs had another day of training camp yesterday with a short practice before getting a day off on Wednesday. Injuries didn’t change from Monday to Tuesday and the same players missed practice including Derrick Johnson and Charcandrick West. Johnson was reportedly dealing with an abscessed tooth, while West continues to deal with an ankle injury. DJ should be expected back shortly.

Kansas City has had multiple players making names for themselves throughout camp, but the one name that everyone wants to hear more about is Patrick Mahomes. Pat struggled a bit on Wednesday throwing a couple of interceptions, but training camp is exactly the time to make those mistakes. Mahomes needs all the reps he can get to improve quickly. His footwork and decision making will take time, but he is certainly not afraid to put the work in.

KC still has some important pieces out with injury and unable to practice while on the PUP list. Tamba Hali, Chris Jones and Parker Ehinger all look to be big pieces for Kansas City this season. Dadi Nicolas would see time but probably a smaller role if there weren’t injuries at OLB. Of the four out with injury, only Chris Jones’ injury is the one with a short timetable.
