Chiefs WR Seantavius Jones continued to light up camp throughout day three and Tyreek Hill continued to shine as well.

The Kansas City Chiefs took the field for day three of training camp for their first day of padded practice. Today’s practice started with a little bit of a scare. Justin Houston was nowhere to be found on the sidelines or warming up. Houston showed up as the team started to break into different team drills. After practice coach Reid stated that Houston was fine and was chosen for a random drug test. When he was chosen for the drug test, he was not able to produce a sample so he had to hydrate before he could join the team at practice.

The team ran 11-on-11 a couple of different times throughout the day and seven on seven as well. The WRs are starting to get open more and more often and are making strides with each practice. The RBs are also getting open down field and the play of the day was a one-handed catch by Kareem Hunt. Hunt was racing up the right sideline and Tyler Bray hit him in stride as Hunt snatched it out of the air with his right hand and took it to the house. Hunt never broke stride or tried to bring the ball in with his left arm. It went from full extension of his right arm to tucked in his side in a very impressive catch.

Bryan Witzmann continued to get all of the starting left guard snaps while Zach Fulton mostly played second string left guard. The offensive line looked to be cohesive as we saw the first live snaps of camp. Smith usually had a good window to throw and the line was keeping the rush at bay. Mahomes continued his inconsistent play as well. He’d have several good plays and then one that made you scratch your head. He showed his dedication as he stayed after practice for 15-20 minutes running additional drills.
