Patrick Mahomes given 76 rating in Madden NFL ’18

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was given an overall rating of 76 in the newest edition of Madden.
Madden NFL ’18 scores are starting to leak as video game players gear up for another season of the Electronic Arts classic. Rookie scores were released on Wednesday and every first round pick was given an overall rating with a few specifics spilling out via Sporting News. Kansas City Chiefs fans will undoubtedly be interested to know how their first round quarterback fared and the answer is decent. Patrick Mahomes comes in as a 76 overall.
Myles Garrett, the No. 1 pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, had the highest overall number in the game among rookies at 83. An interesting rating at No. 2 overall among rookies was the best tight end in the draft class, O.J. Howard, who actually wasn’t selected until No. 19 in the draft but came in at 82 overall rating here. Running backs Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey immediately followed tied at 81 overall.
Three players were tied for the worst overall score for first round rookies: Linebacker Charles Harris of the Miami Dolphins, linebacker Haason Reddick of the Arizona Cardinals and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen of the Washington Redskins. All three players were given a 73 overall, giving the first round rookies a 10-point variance in overall rating.
Mahomes came in tied with Deshaun Watson at 76 overall, just one point behind the first quarterback taken in the draft, Mitchell Trubisky of the Chicago Bears. It will be interesting to see how the ratings break down to differentiate the rookie signal callers from one another.
