NFL fans in Missouri and Kansas are making some interesting choices when buying jerseys, as Tom Brady and Marshawn Lynch are outselling everyone else.

The numbers are in on the best selling jerseys in the National Football League right now, and some surprises are showing up when looking at certain states, specifically those in the heart of Chiefs Kingdom.

For some reason, NFL fans are buying Tom Brady jerseys in Missouri and Marshawn Lynch jerseys in Kansas. Yes, that means that football fans in Kansas are lining up to pay actual currency with real worth to buy something that has the colors and logo of the Oakland Raiders on it.

It’s incredible that the Kansas City Chiefs cannot outsell their rivals in Kansas, especially given the presence of stars like Travis Kelce and Eric Berry. Kelce has certainly become a very popular offensive player with a television presence and outlandish style, the sort of personality that earns a passionate following and such fandom necessary to make these lists. Even more deserving is Berry, whose courageous story of overcoming Hodgkins lymphoma and returning to the field as good as ever is one of the NFL’s best stories overall in the last decade. As a likely future Hall of Famer, Berry should have much stronger home support than he should.

The problem for the Chiefs, however, primarily can be found in the fact that their quarterback is as vanilla as they come. He’s solid enough to remain entrenched for a half-decade, yet he lacks the swagger, the arm or the stats to ingratiate himself with fans. Given how popular quarterback jerseys are, it’s likely going to take Patrick Mahomes reaching stardom before either state swings in the right direction.
