Locked on Chiefs: Joined by Arrowheads Abroad from across the pond

The lads of Arrowheads Abroad are here for a trans-Atlantic chat on your Kansas City Chiefs.  Dave, Tom and Brad joined us and talk about the Chiefs UK Fanbase, the NFL’s expansion outside the U.S.

Thursday’s edition of Locked on Chiefs is joined by the guys at Arrowheads Abroad to talk about the NFL from an outside perspective. All three guys have unique stories about becoming football fans and specifically Chiefs fans. Learning the backstory of many of England’s NFL fans and why they cheer for the teams they do gives you a much better idea as to why some of the teams are more popular than others.

One of the most interesting points made throughout the show is their thoughts on league commissioner Roger Goodell. Most fans in the U.S. can’t stand the commissioner and think he meddles too much. Seeing it from an outsider’s perspective, however, you can see why the NFL has grown exponentially with Goodell at the helm. He has focused on expanding the league internationally and has done a great job at it. With the NFL now sending several games to England a year, they are starting to make the Premier League take notice.

Be sure to listen to the full show as the guys from Arrowheads Abroad are bringing over a 20 person contingent to Arrowhead for a game this year. They are coming in throughout the lead up to the Primetime Game and will be experiencing Kansas City. It is something that we will definitely have to cover again closer to kickoff. It’s an exciting time of year as we inch closer and closer to training camp.
