Mitch Morse named “secret superstar” by Pro Football Focus
By Matt Conner
Pro Football Focus named Kansas City Chiefs center Mitch Morse as their secret superstar for being an underrated cog along the line.
From day one, Mitch Morse has been an anchor in the middle of the offensive line for the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite playing all over the line at Missouri, John Dorsey, the team’s former General Manager, had a vision for Morse from the moment he was taken in the second round to solidify the middle for the Chiefs. His vision was rewarded immediately and continues to pay dividends as Morse was recently named the “secret superstar” for the Chiefs by Pro Football Focus.
PFF recently put out a column identifying one player from each franchise who fits the “secret superstar” bill, an underrated player who might not be recognized outside of his own fan base (and even then might not stand out). Sam Monson writes:

He had some poor games last year, but had an excellent run of run-blocking performances too, and over the season had nine perfect games of pass protection. He didn’t allow a sack all season, and surrendered a total of 14 pressures across more than 1,000 snaps including the playoffs."
Morse has only missed a single game over his first two seasons in the league and looks to anchor the line again for another year. If Morse continues to get better in 2017 and can stand another 16 games, he’s a good bet for his first ever Pro Bowl nod after making the 2015 All-Rookie team during his freshman campaign. All together, it could be an interesting case to get paid a significant extension around this time next year.
