Joe Flacco spoke to the media and said he’s excited to add a player of Jeremy Maclin’s ability to the Baltimore Ravens offense.
Jeremy Maclin was introduced to the Batlimore Ravens on Wednesday and it’s clear the wide receiver and his new teammates are all excited about the team’s newest addition.
Joe Flacco, the team’s starting quarterback, also spoke the media and said he was “excited” to hear about the news of Maclin’s signing.
“I’m excited about it,” said Flacco. “Any time you can add a good player, it helps your team out. I think we’ve got a lot of guys out there competing hard right now, and putting him in that room will just up the ante a little bit.”
The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles were also reportedly trying to convince Maclin to sign with them, and Flacco said he did his part to help woo him.
“I made sure I texted him when he was up in Buffalo to come on down here and see what Baltimore was like. I’ve run into Jeremy before actually in South Jersey when he was playing for Philly. He’s a great kid and I think he’s gonna like it around here.”
Maclin was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier in June to help create some much-needed cap space in a surprise move for everyone, including the veteran wide receiver. He had 44 catches for 563 receiving yards last year for the Chiefs.
