New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has the best-selling jersey in several states, including Missouri, per NFLShop.com

The NFL’s official shop has a map out showing which player’s jersey is the best-selling one by each state. In several states, the results are predictable given that a team’s fan base is going to buy a local product, but the state of Missouri is a bit surprising in that the top sales belong to no one related to Missouri whatsoever: Tom Brady.

Instead of Eric Berry, Derrick Johnson or Travis Kelce or even Marcus Peters, Spencer Ware or Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady has the best-selling jersey in the state of Missouri. It’s an odd statistic that makes sense in the bigger scheme, that if a player is indeed globally known, he’s bound to sell jerseys coast to coast. That said, it’s odd that more people in Missouri bought a Brady jersey than any player with local or even regional ties.

Missouri is also not alone in this fact. Other states that have Tom Brady as the top seller include Alabama, Illinois, Nebraska, Louisiana, Florida, Virginia and Montana. Of course, he rules the entire region of New England as well.

Unfortunately, other states represent their favorite team better than Missouri. Aaron Rodgers rules in Wisconsin and Adrian Peterson is the king in Minnesota. Julio Jones is tops in Georgia, and Odell Beckham, Jr. is atop the charts in the Big Apple. Marcus Mariota in Tennessee, Dak Prescott in Texas and Matthew Stafford in Michigan show the power of the quarterback position to move jerseys. Therein likely lies the issue for Kansas City, since Alex Smith’s presence is so divisive.

Even then, Chiefs fans weren’t exactly clamoring for new Patrick Mahomes jerseys. Brady still won despite other rookies winning their states, including Deshaun Watson, who was tops in both of the Carolinas, and James Conner, who won in Pennsylvania.
