It’s fun to see Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes supporting the team’s neighbors by catching a Royals game.

Fans in attendance at last night’s Kansas City Royals game not only saw an incredible performance by starting pitcher Jason Vargas, but they also got a glimpse of the future of the Chiefs as well as quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce took in the Royals’ game against the Indians on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.

On the night, everyone in the stands, including Mahomes and Kelce, should have been pleased with the final results as Vargas pitched a helluva game for Kansas City, tossing a shutout and allowing only seven hits and one walk while striking out three. His ERA dropped to an incredible 2.08. Mike Moustakas added a nice, but unnecessary, insurance run in the eighth with a solo shot. Overall it was a nice divisional win over the Tribe.

Mahomes is certainly plenty familiar with baseball since his father, Pat Mahomes, was a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins and even pitched in the same division from 1992 to 1996.

Hopefully both Mahomes and Kelce began to talk some shop at the game about how they can get on the same page given the Chiefs just released Jeremy Maclin. Or maybe they were attending the game to lighten their spirits after hearing the news.
