Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns should be in on any conversation when it comes to any free agent simply because the level of need on the team and the sheer amount of cap space makes them an auto-inclusion. That said, the Browns have faced their fair share of hardships at wideout. Josh Gordon hasn’t been reinstated and it’s unclear whether he’ll ever appear in a Browns’ uniform. Corey Coleman cannot seem to stay healthy and is currently out again for a few weeks dealing with a hamstring injury. At this point, Kenny Britt is the only proven product in town.

Why it might happen: $60 million reasons can be found in terms of the Browns’ cap space. In addition, as the team tries to put together a solid skeletal structure moving forward, bringing in someone of Maclin’s pedigree would be a big help in all areas. Maclin is a leader on and off the field and coaches those around him well. He also has the talent to stretch the field much farther than Chiefs fans will likely know, given how conservative they’ve played in his two seasons there.

Why it might not happen: Would it really help the Browns move forward as a young team by bringing in another veteran opposite Kenny Britt to lock down the receiver spots? It might be better to let the kids play and see who emerges in the process. Also would Maclin really choose to go to a team likely to pick first in next year’s draft?
