NFL rumors: Gerald Hodges will visit Buffalo Bills, New York Giants

The Buffalo Bills are the latest team to host free agent linebacker Gerald Hodges, who also visited the Chiefs earlier this offseason.
Free agent linebacker Gerald Hodges continues to make the rounds slowly but surely in free agency. On Monday, he’s reportedly visiting with the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants over the next two days.
Hodges impressed in a breakout sort of season with the San Francisco 49ers, showing off an impressive ability to stuff the run while also making plays in pass coverage. The Kansas City Chiefs brought him in for a visit earlier this offseason, the very first visit of free agency in fact. However, the Chiefs let Hodges walk without a new deal.
Hodges later expressed an interest in potentially returning to play for the Minnesota Vikings, his initial home in the NFL before the team traded him to San Fran. With the Bills, Hodges is most likely playing for a versatile back-up spot who could certainly start inside or outside if/when necessary as well as some special teams duties as well.
Hodges had 80 tackles last season, a career-high, for the 49ers along with 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defended and 1 forced fumble. Only 26-years-old, there’s still good reason to believe that Hodges’ best days are ahead of him.
