Would the Chiefs ever hire Michael Vick as an assistant coach? The quarterback says he’s interested in the chance.
Could Michael Vick be the next member of the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff? It’s an interesting proposition, especially hearing that the former NFL quarterback is interested in starting a coaching career and doing so alongside his former coach and mentor Andy Reid.
In an interview on Howard Eskin’s podcast, Vick discussed his potential coaching interests and Vick mentioned his former home with the Atlanta Falcons or working with Reid, which he did with the Philadelphia Eagles, as potential interests. There’s no telling whether or not there’s any real possibility for Vick available with either franchise.
"“Yeah well he just wanted to get my thoughts, but we haven’t talked about it since. But if I could coach with anybody, I would love to start out with Andy if there was an opportunity. Obviously, I would love it with the Falcons as well. So we’ll see how it goes.”"
Vick officially announced his retirement from the NFL in February, and he would likely begin any sort of coaching career in a sort of intern role.
In his 13-year NFL career, Vick owns a career record of 61-51-1 as a starting quarterback with a career completion percentage of 56.2 and 133 touchdowns and 88 interceptions. Vick also averaged 7 yards/rush, good for a total career amount of 6,109 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns. He’s a four-time Pro Bowler who also won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award.
