What if the Kansas City Chiefs had stuck with their original picks? What would their 2017 draft class have resembled?

With the 2017 NFL Draft well in the rearview mirror, one thing is clear: none of us ever have any idea how the event is going to turn out. Every mock draft was rendered useless after the first pick, and no one even saw the Bears trade coming until it was announced from the podium. Even then we were all still so shocked that the next few picks likely should have been repeated to make sure we all got the right information. From there, it was one surprise after another as teams moved around a record number of times to grab the players they desired most.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, John Dorsey was right in the middle of the storm, pulling off four trades of his own that shrunk the overall quantity of picks from 10 to 6. The hope is that Dorsey found quality with those selections, but in a fun exercise of “what if?”, we thought it would be interesting to see what the Chiefs draft haul would have resembled if Dorsey didn’t want to move around at all.

Instead, what would the Chiefs have walked away with if Dorsey had simply let the draft fall to him. Who would they have taken? Let’s take a closer look.
