The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with Will Lewis, their Director of Pro Scouting since 2013.
Will Lewis has been with the Kansas City Chiefs as their Director of Pro Scouting since coming over from the Seattle Seahawks in 2013. Neil Stratton of Inside the League has word that the two sides have decided to part ways, meaning the Chiefs have another front office opening to fill in a busy offseason of losses for the team.
Lewis should have no problem finding a new job, if he doesn’t have one already lined up, given his recent tenures in two of the most successful front offices in the NFL.
The Chiefs recently loss Kyle Childress, son of coach Brad Childress, to the Indianapolis Colts for the role of College Scouting Director. Childress is working another former Chiefs executive, Chris Ballard, who was hired this offseason as the team’s new general manager. All three losses have yet to be officially filled by the Chiefs, so expect some sort of front office restructuring announcement coming from K.C. in the next few weeks.
Lewis’s decision to leave the team (or vice versa) is still a rumor at this point, as he remains on the team’s website in his current role. Watch for news that makes it official from the team or from Lewis’s new team.
