The current Las Vegas odds have the over/under on wins at 9 for the 2017 NFL season for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wondering how sports bettors, or those who set the odds, are seeing the Kansas City Chiefs these days? Look no further than the current over/under for wins for the 2017 regular season, which is currently set at 9.

For those looking to take the under, the Chiefs face a much tougher schedule in 2017 than they did a year ago, beginning with a road game against the New England Patriots and including the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and, of course, the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders twice each.

The Chiefs also failed to really add much in the way of new talent that would bolster roster holes made evident from last year. Inside linebacker is still a problem. They also didn’t add a corner. They brought in Bennie Logan, but it’s a wash with the loss of Dontari Poe. Each of their top draft picks could be considered a project, a player who is unlikely to have any real impact in the first year.

For those looking to take the over, the reality is that the Chiefs won 12 games last season and return more players from the 2016 roster than any other team in the NFL. The Chiefs are deep and young and enjoy the rare luxury known as continuity among its players and coaching staff. Are they really going to lose three more games than they did last year with largely the exact same set of players? Does that continuity not work in their favor? Even with the tougher schedule, it’s hard to see them falling so close to .500 given the talent level on the team.

As for the rest of the AFC West, the Raiders over/under is set at 9.5 wins. The Broncos are at 8.5 and the Chargers at 7.5 wins.
