The Kansas City Chiefs and John Dorsey got aggressive and gave Kansas City the most interesting, if controversial, draft in recent memory.

The biggest thing that became conclusion we can draw from this year’s draft is how the Chiefs feel about their roster. John Dorsey made more trade ups in this draft than he has in his past four years as the Chiefs GM. Kansas City drafted for the future and used their draft capital this year to get players they felt could help them down the road more than help them in 2017.

Six picks in this year’s draft when you start the draft with 10 is a significant sign that they believe they are in good shape as a team overall. The Chiefs went out and got their guy three different times and gave up only one pick in next year’s draft to do so. Their draft was full of upside picks and looking forward at filling out holes they don’t currently have. This draft class will need more time to be productive over the next couple of seasons but the upside really makes it a potentially great draft.
