The Denver Broncos are scheduled to host free agent running back Jamaal Charles on Tuesday for a visit to Mile High Stadium.
The Kansas City Chiefs let Jamaal Charles go earlier this offseason knowing that, at some point, the release of the franchise record-setting running back could come back to hurt them. Maybe that’s what John Elway has in mind when bringing in Charles for a free agent visit to Denver on Tuesday with the Broncos.

Now that the NFL Draft is over, the market for veterans is reheating once again, and Charles has been faithful on his end to show teams he’s improving in his rehab with several video posts showing himself working out. The Chiefs appear to have officially moved on after drafting Kareem Hunt in the third round from the University of Toledo.
The Broncos have Devontae Booker and C.J. Anderson already in house, and they just used a late round pick on running back De’Angelo Henderson in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. However, none of those players have the home-run hitting ability of Charles, and a motivated Charles might become a nightmare for other teams in the AFC West.
The only previous visit that Charles has taken this offseason has been with the Seattle Seahawks, who ended up signing veteran running back Eddie Lacy instead.
