Pick: 12
Team: Cleveland Browns
Selection: Garett Bolles, OT, Utah

The Cleveland Browns have no chance at Mitchell Trubisky here, but it doesn’t mean they can’t get much, much better on offense with this same pick. The Cameron Erving experiment hasn’t worked out along the offensive line, and the Browns are doing everything they can to cement this unit together. Joe Thomas is an aging anchor on one side who still plays at a Pro Bowl level. The interior has been a serious focus this offseason with the addition of former Cincinnati Bengals guard Kevin Zeitler and the extension of veteran Joel Bitonio.

That leaves right tackle and the fact that Garett Bolles out of Utah is still sitting here means that the Browns can add the tackle with the highest upside to their unit. The Cameron Erving experiment has failed and there’s no reason to bet on it now. Mitchell Schwartz’s exit last offseason still needs to be filled and Bolles is perfectly suited to slide right in. In addition, if and when Thomas calls it quits, Bolles has the size and athleticism to handle the blind side. They might not have their quarterback just yet, but they’ll be quite ready to protect him when he arrives. [Matt Conner]
