Pick: 13
Team: Arizona Cardinals
Selection: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State

Many have the Arizona Cardinals targeting a quarterback early in the draft due to the age of Carson Palmer, but they’re also in the same place as the Chiefs in that they have the luxury to take their time finding a quarterback of the future. With Marshon Lattimore on the board, it’s a no-brainer.

The Cardinals will be looking to shore up their defensive secondary with the choice of Lattimore from Ohio State. While the Cardinals are in the market for a quarterback, they won’t be able to pass up the consensus number one cornerback in the draft, who somehow falls all the way to the middle of the first round here.

Lattimore is a good sized corner with long arms and the quickness teams will love. He also has the strength to jam at the line of scrimmage and speed to keep up with any wideout. Lattimore has great field awareness and his anticipation is what really sets him apart from other corners in this class. His ability to read a route and jump it reminds me of Kansas City Chiefs corner Marcus Peters. Having Patrick Peterson on one side and Lattimore on the other with Tyrann Mathieu playing centerfield gives the Cardinals one of the best secondary units in the league. [Britt Zank]
