The Kansas City Chiefs recently hosted Cameron Malveaux, a defensive lineman from the University of Houston, for a pre-draft visit.

The Kansas City Chiefs are still adjusting their draft board with just a week to go before the 2017 NFL Draft as they host prospects with their remaining allotted private workouts. University of Houston defensive lineman Cameron Malveaux is the latest visitor to Arrowhead Stadium, per Aaron Wilson.

Malveaux has a nice frame at 6-6, 275 lbs. and was voted a team captain at Houston. He also has some NFL bloodlines with an uncle, Felman Malveaux, who latched on as a reserve wide receiver for Washington and Tampa Bay in the late ’80s.

Last season, Malveaux had 21 total tackles, 7.5 of them for a loss, and 1 sack during his final season at Houston. He has only 4 career sacks, a disappointing number for a defensive end who should have showed more push in the pocket given his ideal size and wingspan. He does, however, project as a player who could do more if given the time and coaching. As with many such projects, it’s all about scheme, fit, player temperament and opportunity.

Malveaux is unlikely to be a draft pick of any round in a draft class this deep, so general manager John Dorsey is likely doing some shopping and/or selling to round out his list of undrafted free agents who make it to training camp.
