With the official NFL schedule out, the Kansas City Chiefs will play more primetime games than anyone else in 2017.

It’s clear that the powers-that-be who create the NFL schedule believe the Kansas City Chiefs are going to be serious contenders for the Super Bowl. Perhaps you could even infer that they believe more in the Chiefs than any other team. At least that’s what they are projecting by giving the Chiefs an NFL-high six primetime games, more than any single franchise in the league.

The Chiefs open the season at New England to play the Patriots on a Thursday night. They host the Redskins in Week 4 on Monday Night Football. The very next week, they play on the road against the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.

Two weeks later, they travel to Oakland to play the Raiders on a short week, once again on a Thursday night match-up. The very next week, they’re back on Sunday Night Football while hosting the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. The final primetime game comes late in the season, while hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on a Saturday night in Week 15.

What’s most interesting is that the Chiefs will also play the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, but none of those games will be in primetime. Go figure.
