The Kansas City Chiefs hosted Purdue guard Jordan Roos at Arrowhead Stadium earlier this week in the lead up to the 2017 NFL Draft.
According to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, Jordan Roos is the latest visitor to Arrowhead Stadium as the Kansas City Chiefs continue to alter their 2017 NFL Draft board in anticipation of making their 10 selections available.
Roos is a big man at 6-4, 302 lbs. In addition to his size, the biggest thing in Roos’ favor is that he’s a four-year starter for the Boilermakers, so he enters the NFL with tons of experience along the offensive line. Roos was not invited to the NFL Combine, but recent visits to the Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals shows that he’s on the radar for some franchises in the Midwest.
Roos is also very strong with 41 reps on the bench press. At 225 pounds, the most at the NFL Combine among offensive linemen was 35 reps, so the fact that Roos bested that number considerably shows the strength is there to go with the large frame.
Roos isn’t rated highly on any prospect lists enough to project him with one of the Chiefs draft picks, although it’s certainly not out of the question, but it’s likely that John Dorsey is figuring out who he’s likely to call after the draft with a solid offer. In a loaded draft class, Roos might not hear his own name called within the seven round format, but that doesn’t mean he won’t have a chance to showcase that strength in the hopes of making a roster.
