Falcons rumors: Dan Quinn has “good visit” with Dontari Poe
By Matt Conner
Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said that he enjoyed a “good visit” with Dontari Poe on his recent free agent stop.
As Dontari Poe continues to enjoy his free agent tour, the former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle apparently had a “good visit” with the Atlanta Falcons, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Poe visited the NFC champions after swinging by the Jacksonville Jaguars and before he landed in South Florida for a trip to visit the Miami Dolphins.
Poe has already visited with the Indianapolis Colts and is supposed to also visit the Oakland Raiders if earlier plans still stand. John Dorsey, the Chiefs general manager, has also left the door open for Poe’s potential return at the right price, although that was before the Bennie Logan signing.
Poe would make sense in Atlanta given the connection to former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, who works alongside Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff in the front office. Poe would also help bolster a line that let Tyson Jackson walk and could also Jonathan Babineaux. Poe is only 26-years-old and could grow with the young defensive core that includes Vic Beasley.
Poe had 1.5 sacks and 27 total tackles last year for the Chiefs.
