The Kansas City Chiefs have added free agent Bennie Logan to their defensive line rotation.

The Kansas City Chiefs have added free agent defensive tackle Bennie Logan, per reports from various sources.

The Chiefs could use some help along the defensive line after the likely loss of Dontari Poe, although they’d left the door open for him to return. Poe is currently taking free agents visits with the Jaguars, Falcons, Colts and Raiders.

Logan is almost as young as Poe, having just turned 27, and joins a defensive line that includes phenom Chris Jones, last year’s second round choice. Allen Bailey and Jaye Howard will also return from injured reserve, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches adds another young rotational body.

Logan has played in 59 games the last four seasons, all with the Eagles. Last season in 13 games (and starts), Logan had 2.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 24 total tackles. Even though he comes from the Eagles, he never played for head coach Andy Reid since he entered the NFL after Reid signed with the Chiefs.

Logan was the Eagles’ third round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
