Tony Romo rumors: Broncos, Texans, Chiefs listed among favorites
By Matt Conner
Despite rumors that the Chiefs have “no interest” in Tony Romo, Kansas City is still listed among the odds-on favorites in Vegas to land him.
Tony Romo has been waiting to find out his future as Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys owner, needs to make a decision about whether or not he will release or trade the veteran quarterback. Now that word has leaked from Adam Schefter that Romo will indeed be released on Thursday, speculation has already begun in Las Vegas as to who might land the Pro Bowl quarterback.

As you can see above, the Chiefs are listed just below three other teams, two often mentioned along with Romo’s name this offseason and a brand new possibility that’s farther north than anything rumored thus far with the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are rumored to bring back Tyrod Taylor, so it’s hard to imagine Romo’s willingness to leave his Texas home for the frigid tundra of Buffalo and would the Bills really bury Taylor on the depth chart? The whole thing seems odd.
As for the ultimate favorites, the Broncos and Texans, both of those seem very likely homes for Romo. For John Elway, it would be another strong veteran signing a la Peyton Manning where an aging and even injury-prone quarterback enjoys being surrounded by strong offensive weapons and a stout, playoff ready defense. The situation would also be the same with the Texans.
When it comes to the Chiefs, a rumor has already leaked that they are “not interested” in Romo but perhaps Vegas doesn’t believe it.
