One more AFC Player of the week
Tyreek Hill needs to get a bigger place to put his trophies. Wednesday the rookie speed-demon collected another award from the NFL, as he was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. It’s not the first time hill has been recognized this season, but it does have a special meaning. The last Player to be named the Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week in the same season was Reggie Bush in 2006. When asked about that fact, Hill responded “It means a lot – just to be up there with a name like that. The name Reggie Bush just speaks for itself – for what he’s done. Not only what he’s done in college, but what he’s done in this league. So, shout out to him. I’m just thankful to be up there. I’m thankful for this organization for giving me this wonderful opportunity, you all for just being here for me. I want to thank everybody, man.”

Alex Smith has reaped the benefits of Hill’s progression. As the rookie wide receiver has been able to attack defenses with his legs, Smith has begun to attack more with his arm. Smith gives Hill plenty of credit, “It was something we’ve talked about. Additionally, he makes things easy. There’s two things with it: One, we were gambling a little bit with the protection and those guys holding up in front. Secondly, he makes it easy to stay aggressive. When throwing the ball, he tracks it so well you can really trust him down the field to go and get it. Hats off to him for those two things and making it look easy.”
