Locked on Chiefs – Seth Keysor Alex Smith, Rants and PSA
By Ryan Tracy
Smith’s years in Kansas city are culminating in 2016
The Chiefs Alex Smith has been a controversial figure in Kansas City since his arrival. He has been labeled a “Game Manager”. He’s been criticized for running too much. He’s been called out for not running enough. You can have everything all the time, but since the bye week Smith has been doing well in doing just that.

Smith’s performance against the New Orleans Saints brought another round of complaints. As you sit back and look at the team as a whole, it becomes clear that Alex Smith is at his best in this version of the WCO. He is efficient. He is also taking advantage of the defenses attention to the run game. He’s scrambling when he needs to and he is pushing the ball downfield. Its a work in progress, but this Alex Smith can make this a playoff caliber offense.
John Dorsey working the Practice squad
The Chiefs front office made two moves on Tuesday, waiving recently acquired LB Deion Barnes.
To replace him on the practice squad, John Dorsey signed former Saints DE Bobby Richardson. Richardson started 11 games last season as a rookie.
This could be just normal roster churn or signal a need for more DL depth. Only time will tell us, but it is something to keep an eye on in coming weeks.
