There are more flip-flops going on with the Chiefs than on the campaign trails.

The Kansas City Chiefs can’t decide who they are going to be, letting their play sway back and forth. Momentum is a rare and coveted thing in football. Teams don’t want to give it up and they shouldn’t. It can carry teams when they need it the most.

The team that started so slow in week one battled back to go on a tear for the latter half of game one. It was a good sign of mental strength and set the team up to face a tough challenge head on in week two. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the same team that showed up in Houston and lost all the momentum it had fought to build.

Now, the team can reset and look to start over against the New York Jets. The Jets are a team of changing fortunes too. They show some of the same traits that Kansas City does. John Butchko covers the team for Gang Green Nation. He joined the podcast to give some insight on the Jets. Here’s the show:

Two Sides of Same Coin?

The Jets are a team whose defensive strength lies in the big guys of the d-line, just like the 2016 Chiefs squad. The Chiefs will need to see continued attack out of the group to dominate the line of scrimmage Sunday. The timing is pretty good given that Dontari Poe is coming off his best game in recent memory. Poe recently described the mentality needed for the NFL saying:

"“You’ve got to be the one that’s initiating the aggression. You’ve got to be the hammer—not the nail.” – Dontari Poe"
