In Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s press conference on Monday, he mentioned that there were no updates on injuries for the Texans game.
When asked about Jamaal Charles he said they are still taking a wait and see approach to see how he looks this week. Andy said that he wants to make sure they don’t rush him back and that he is ready to go when he comes back. If I’m Kansas City I’m sitting him this week if he isn’t 100% healthy. With two starting guards still questionable and a very tough Jets defense coming to town there is no reason to tempt fate.
When Coach Reid was asked about the holding on Tyreek Hill’s kickoff return for a TD he stated that he thought the player flopped. Andy thought that the player that Nelson was blocking realized he was outflanked and just to save the TD he flopped. It ended up working for the Texans and to me it is still extremely questionable whether or not the player that Nelson was blocking even had a chance to stop Hill.
Roster Tinkering
Rakeem Nunez-Roches cleared waivers today and is eligible to be placed on the Chiefs practice squad. It will be a situation to monitor as KC will have to figure out about their two guards and see if they can release Devey again. If Devey is released maybe RNR comes back to the active roster but I would think that he will be back in Kansas City in some capacity at some point in the near future.
