Part of me wants to just write this game off as a fluke. I want to believe that this was just a combination of a good Houston defense and a bad day at the office for the KC offense. The problem is that if you take away the fantastic fourth quarter and overtime against San Diego you are left with seven quarters of what can only be described as abysmal offense.

If a team has been one thing for seven quarters and something else for one quarter which is more likely the fluke? I get that the Chiefs put up 33 points last week and Alex Smith was phenomenal during that late comeback but the overall body of work through two games for the Chiefs offense is just flat out not good enough.

The special teams have looked good thus far. Both Cairo Santos and Dustin Colquitt have been great, the coverage units have looked good, and Tyreek Hill looks like a star return man. The defense had a terrible first half against San Diego but has followed that up with six straight quarters of solid play.

The defense and special teams look like they are good enough to win games this season they just need the offense to be what we thought (or at least most of us thought) they would be.
