In the turnaround from a terrible first two quarters of the 2016 season, the Kansas City Chiefs found a way to win.
They team success rode on a number of players in the process. The Chiefs will need to see that resurgence continue as they head into week two versus the Houston Texans.
Dee Ford battled back to play a key play of the game, sacking Philip Rivers. More importantly, during the second half of the game agains the San Diego Chargers, Dee Ford began to play the run with increased effectiveness. The Team will benefit from Ford being able to play a well-rounded base game and provide occasional impact plays.
Injury News
Luckily, the Chiefs escaped the season opener without any new significant injuries. Andy Reid said Monday that Jeremy Maclin cleared the concussion protocol prior to returning to the game and is available this week.

Charges wide receive Keenan Allen was hurt on Sunday agains the Chiefs. Monday it was confirmed that Allen did indeed tear the ACL in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season.
Kansas City faces the Houston Texans next. They had one significant injury of their own in Week one. Monday, the Texans acknowledged that they will be without inside linebacker Brian Cushing next Sunday. Cushing is said to be “week-to-week.”
