Defensive line also has great depth with four locks and another two players that are really close to locks. Rakeem Nunez-Roches looked impressive in the first game and Nick Williams is a known player and can play all the line positions. David King currently looks to be on the outside looking in and it’s likely between him and Nick Williams. Either one of King or Williams will play in the NFL this season if released.

Quarterback is an obvious position with depth. Alex Smith and Nick Foles are both locks. Aaron Murray needs to take a big step forward this week and play well with his chances against the Rams. The Chiefs like Tyler Bray and drafted Kevin Hogan this year. Hogan will be picked up off waivers but I have a hard time believing he will be the No. 3 QB in Kansas City this season. Tyler Bray’s injury makes me wonder if there isn’t another IR in his near future.

Running back is another position that is very deep for Kansas City. Jamaal Charles, Spencer Ware, and Charcandrick West are all locks for the roster. I’m hoping KC can find someone that will trade for Knile Davis as I just can’t see them keeping four RB’s this year. I also believe that Darren Reaves will find a home in this league somewhere. He may need another year on the practice squad but he is fully capable to play in the NFL.

What a difference a year makes at wide receiver. Last year the Chiefs didn’t have enough talented wide outs. This season they will release at least one if not two that will be picked up. I believe that De’Anthony Thomas will see a lot of snaps tonight as I think the team is shopping him. They want to trade him as I can’t see room on the roster without keeping seven wide receivers.

One position that I didn’t expect to have extra depth at was tight end. Kansas City has a young superstar in Travis Kelce. Demetrius Harris is the second tight end followed by rookie Ross Travis. Travis is a surprise this offseason as most would have expected him to just be camp fodder. James O’Shaughnessy doesn’t look the same this year and Brian Parker has had too many drops to make the roster. O’Shaughnessy will catch on with another team let go, but can he return to the promise he showed last year?

What do you think, Addicts? What players do you think the Chiefs will cut that will play for another team this season?
