Potential: When Eric Fisher was drafted, the scouting reports all basically said the same thing: “give it some time.”

That’s been tough for Chiefs fans, but last year Fisher finally showed everyone what those scouts were talking about.  He still struggled with a number of issues, but it was clear that he had also made some serious progress.  That was highlighted in the AFC Wild Card game against the Houston Texans when Fisher delivered a punishing “clean-up” shot to JJ Watt. Watt, along with the entire state of Texas, bemoaned it as a “cheap shot”…which it was, and I freaking love it.

That mean streak was what many of us liked about Fisher rather than the more highly acclaimed Luke Joekel (who has fared even worse than Fisher).  And the fact that he pulled that move in a big time game against a big time player showed a level of confidence that had previously seemed to be missing.  It’s the kind of mentality that can  be built upon, and hopefully that’s the case moving forward.
