It’s Friday, Addicts, and that means it’s time for another weekly roundup of all the NFL news and rumors from around the league.  There was actually quite a bit going on this week, and it spanned across the full news spectrum.

More from Kansas City Chiefs News

The Kansas City Chiefs were largely quiet, which did surprise me a little bit.  There were a few moves that I figured had to be on the table.  Dorsey may be waiting for the Eric Berry deal to come together before doing anything else…or he may simply not have any other moves planned…or I’m really just over thinking the whole thing and should learn to be patient.

Quarterbacks were making some headlines this week.  Sam Bradford is apparently a good teammate and leader (heh).  Nick Foles has told the Rams “It’s not me, it’s you.”  Kirk Cousins suddenly realized he’s never ran an offseason workout before.  And apparently you best not mess with Ryan Fitzpatrick’s money.  Yeah, most of those stories are pretty much duds…but the Fitzpatrick situation in New York is getting testy.  Not good at this point in the season.

Lead Story: Jets Aren’t Feeling That Old Fitzmagic

3,905 yards and 31 TD passes and a 10-6 record…that’s what Ryan Fitzpatrick brought to the New York Jets offense in 2015.  In his 11th season in the NFL, the 34 year old journeyman put up the absolute best numbers of his career.  And after playing for peanuts most of his career, it’s little surprise that he wants to be paid based more on his most recent numbers instead of what he’s produced for most of his career.

It’s also little surprise that the Jets seem to have no interest in doing that.  Fitzpatrick’s career arc makes 2015 an outlier…a statistical anomaly that is very unlikely to happen again.  General Managers are paid a lot of money to understand things like that.  Of course, they are also paid a lot of money to make sure the team has a suitable quarterback.  But as of now, Jets GM Mike Maccagnan is focusing more on that first thing.
