We did it guys, we made it through the madness of draft season once again!

As much as I enjoy a good ol’ mock draft, that itch has been scratched over the past couple months, to say the least. But, speaking of mock drafts, our own Ben Almquist posted his final mock draft yesterday and had the Chiefs selecting Artie Burns out of The U with their first round pick.

More from Arrowhead Addict

Now, if there’s one prospect that encapsulates the madness of draft season, it’s Artie Burns. When Burns declared (the story behind his declaration is something you most definitely should read), he was pegged as a selection for day two. Then the combine rolled around and Burns thrust himself into the spotlight with a mouth-watering combination of size and raw athleticism. The guy is a top hurdler in the offseason, I mean, who could’ve seen a standout combine performance coming?

With the measurables there in spades and cornerback being a premium position (QB, LT, and edge rusher being the others), Burns’ name is now generating considerable first round buzz. But as you already know, measurable are only part of the story – got to check what the tape shows as well.

Burns’ tape is quite dichotomous; there are things that jump off the screen and get you excited about Artie, but there’s also a fair amount that quarterbacks will look to expose in his rookie year. So let’s take a look at the player that multiple draftniks are projecting to be the Chiefs selection tomorrow.
