Chiefs mock draft: John Dorsey gets creative

1 of 9

We continue our path to the draft with another AA mock draft.  It’s kind of amazing how much can change in a week, and that’s part of what makes mock draft season so entertaining.  What was true and important one week, is suddenly a myth or sitting on the backburner the next.  It keeps mock drafters like me on our toes and ensures that we keep on top of as many prospects as we can possibly manage.

An interesting week at 1 Arrowhead Drive has made some solid reverberations through the organization.  Suddenly, certain question marks are a little less concerning.  That’s because General Manager John Dorsey has, once again, worked some 11th hour magic to give the Chiefs a solid offseason thus far (I’ve got a little more on that coming this week).

But as he has shown each year, there is no reason for Dorsey to take his foot off the gas now.  The recent extensions of Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware have created a unique situation that the Chiefs should be ready to exploit.

More from Kansas City Chiefs Draft

First of all, let me be clear on this…the Chiefs have gotten an excellent return on their investment in Knile Davis.  Between his effectiveness as a kick returner and the several quality games he’s put up when called upon at running back, he has absolutely been a successful pick.

But with West and Ware showing so much promise, trying to flip Davis for more picks is an opportunity that cannot be passed on, especially with the current need to replace our stolen third round pick.  And if the rumors are true, the Chiefs have some suitors…
