“So the Chiefs aren’t signing any of their free agents, is that what you’re telling us Brandon?” It’s possible none of the bigger contract players are retained but I’m hoping for the best here. That doesn’t mean I can’t tell you who they might go after to fill the whole in free agency. A player on the market that fills a possible need and has familiarity with the GM screams Kansas City would be likely to sign him.

Kansas City already has their number one corner spot filled with the sensational rookie Marcus Peters who led the league in passes deflected. The number two and even three spot is becoming increasingly important as Denver proved in their Super Bowl win. So it’s not as if the Chiefs can just look for a lower tier guy, they definitely need to find a good player to play at that number two or three spot depending on how Philip Gaines recovers from his injury.

Hayward can play both outside and inside as he did for the Packers last season making him a little more valuable and we all know that Dorsey loves that versatility, he played well enough to rank 32nd overall among cornerbacks in ProFootballFocus.com’s position grades.
