Chiefs schedule 2016: Five key games

In 2016, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to enter the season with plenty of pressure.

It will be the first time in forever that this team is not viewed as either a contender or pretender, but as a favorite. Many are already saying that the Chiefs are the best team in the AFC West, despite the Denver Broncos winning the Super Bowl and the division for a fifth straight year. Whether or not you agree with that is your call, but there is little doubt Kansas City is legitimate.

Looking at the 2016 schedule, the Chiefs are playing their six AFC West games along with the AFC and NFC South divisions. The odd games are the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field and New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City has a home slate that includes the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

With that in mind, the Chiefs have a real chance of running the proverbial table at Arrowhead. They will be favored in every home game, in most cases by more than a touchdown. The road contests are more difficult, but there are still some winnable ones in there.
