I grew up in Southern California and the Los Angeles Rams were my first football love. More importantly than that, there was lots to do and love in SoCal for a kid. There was the beach 45 minutes away. There was the mountains 15 minutes from home. The Bruins, the Dodgers, In-N-Out Burgers and the Lakers also got a Prince-sized piece of my kid-allegiance.

Southern California is a temperate zone providing the kind of weather that makes it ideal for spending your life outdoors doing whatever your fancy should fancy.

Considering that there are many kinds of diversions to watching the game of professional football in Los Angeles, Los Angeles has already once proven that it could not sustain enough interest to build a stadium outside of the L.A. Coliseum so… what is it that makes current NFL owners think the metropolitan area can now support two teams?

Yes, a few thousand “faithful Charger fans” (an oxymoron for sure) will still be willing to travel the several hours by car for games but, not enough to make a difference.

So, I can see one team succeeding there… but not two. Consequently, I believe that will be the death knell for the San Diego Chargers if they decide to move with the Rams. The Rams have a history there and they should garner some immediate support upon their return.

If the Chargers don’t succeed there, it would have a catastrophic effect on the AFC West Division and that of course could impact the Chiefs in ways yet unknown. The Chiefs have had the San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos and the Oakland (sometimes L.A.) Raiders as their AFC West counterparts since the inception of that AFL in 1960 and furthermore, I believe that history, and those adversaries, are worth preserving.

The top five K.C. Chiefs seasons ever are (in my opinion),

5.  1993: Played for the Conference Championship- while that team boasted Joe Montana and Marcus Allen, this year’s team is made to last and is still developing.

4.  1962: AFL Championship- those Chiefs were technically in Texas (and the old AFL) at the time so it should not be on the “Kansas City list” so I’ll take the 2003 team that went 13-3 and featured Tony Gonzales, Priest Holmes and Trent Green even though they didn’t win a playoff game. Man, I loved me some Priest.

3.  2015: An 11 game winning streak with a 30-0 playoff victory over the JJ Watt led Texans following a 22 year playoff dry spell.

2.  1966: Playing in the first ever AFL/NFL Championship- later to be named the Super Bowl.

1.  1969: Super Bowl Champions and a half dozen or so Hall of Famers.

If you disagree, use this link and then get back to me with three (or more) other Kansas City Chiefs seasons that were better than this one.

Three of my favorite go-to web sites for learning about college prospects include, WalterFootball Mock Database, Fanspeak Mock Generator and First-Pick.com Mock Draft Game Generator and I’ve noticed a very interesting trend there… although it’s just an ever so minute change in the grand scheme of things… but each of the those three sites, just this week, have listed the Kansas City Chiefs as the team picking 28th in the upcoming draft.

Now, I’m sure it doesn’t take too very long for the people who have to write the game code for those sites (or change the database for the other) to make a change in whoever actually wins… but you have to believe that they’d rather not have to go back and re-write that code, if at all possible. The point is… several “somebodies” who are usually depended upon to know their stuff when it comes to playoff teams and ultimately, draft order… have the Chiefs playing in the AFC Conference Championship.

What do you think Addict fans? Are you ready to celebrate… even more?

Go Chiefs!!!!
