Where the Chiefs stand in the AFC

On this hour-long episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco talks about where the Chiefs stand in the flawed AFC, changing how we talk about Marcus Peters and what he does so well, how we undervalue Jeremy Maclin, Justin Houston and Tamba Hali, and where we want the Chiefs to be for the first round of the playoffs. Plus, a recap of the victory over the Cleveland Browns and what to expect in the home finale against the Raiders.

Contrary to popular belief (or at least Tom Jackson’s), the Chiefs are not operating with a smaller margin of error than any other team in the AFC. Though the Chiefs have shown their flaws, good-but-flawed teams are in good company in the modern NFL.

It’s hard to believe, but we undervalue Tamba Hali, Justin Houston and Jeremy Maclin.

Due to a new stat and a shift in mindset about Marcus Peters, not only do I think he is a deserving defensive rookie of the year and Pro Bowler, I think we’re justified in putting his ceiling and style of play on par with a couple of future Hall-of-Famers.

All of that and much more on this episode of Roughing the Kicker.
