AFC West Week 16 Preview

This next week becomes suddenly pivotal for Denver as they face Cincinnati at home on Monday Night Football. No one anywhere thought in week 7 that come week 16 the Broncos would be playing for the division. Back then the Chiefs were 1-5 and reeling while the Broncos were, unimpressively, undefeated.

If the Broncos don’t win this game then they will be looking up at Kansas City in the standings. Now, were Andy Dalton healthy I would say that the Bengals would most certainly win this game. But the “no-fly-zone” defense could get TJ Ward back this week and they will be ticked after giving up that game last week. I want to pick the Bengals but I just can’t. Broncos 24, Bengals 21

The Chiefs get their last two games at home against teams with losing records. This next team in particular is playing for the number one pick in April’s draft. Cleveland will come to Kansas City losing eight of their last nine and giving up 30+ points in six of those losses. This game would be a good time to throw deep on offense and make a statement. I know that is not Andy Reid’s style but the Chiefs could really put the fear on teams going into the playoffs if they turned it up on offense these last two weeks. Eric Berry will have his hands full with Gary Barnidge but this should be a solid win for KC. Chiefs 37, Browns 10

The Chargers and Raiders play in Oakland on Thursday night. I will watch it just for the Philip Rivers, patented tantrums as he is sacked over and over again by Khalil Mack. Raiders 40, Chargers 13

AFC West predicted Standings
