AFC West Previews

Hold your breath Chiefs fans because here comes another week where the Chiefs are a favorite by more than a touchdown. Honestly, my shirt collar won’t survive another close game with a final drive like the Chiefs allowed on Sunday. (I’m a nervous chewer) The Ravens are definitely not a great football team right now but when you look at the previous three weeks before the Seattle game the Ravens were jobbed out of some potential wins with some questionable officiating.

The good news for the Chiefs is that Matt Schaub has a fairly good chance of starting. Everyone knows what that means. PICK SIX FOR YOU! PICK SIX FOR YOU! PICK SIXES FOR EVERYONE!!! In reality though this should be a dominant defensive game and Baltimore’s defense is a shell of it’s former self. The running tandem of West and Ware should do enough to get the win for the Chiefs. Look for a bounce-back game from Travis Kelce as well. Chiefs 28, Ravens 3

The Brock-Os will travel to Pittsburgh in a clash of titans with the Steelers’ offense against the Broncos’ defense. The outcome of this game will ultimately come down to whether or not Denver can score in the redzone. Pittsburgh’s defense has stepped it up lately but their pass rush isn’t exactly turning heads which is what you need to frustrate Osweiler.

However, they do have a stellar run defense that allows the 6th fewest yards per game on the ground. (NFL.com) If the Steelers can take away the safety blanket of Osweiler that is the Denver run game then Roethlisberger and the offense will score. They won’t score a ton but they will score. Steelers 24, Broncos 9

There is something about the mystique of Green Bay that always leads me to go with them on a pick. It doesn’t matter to me that they have played very close with inferior teams for several weeks now. It doesn’t matter that they are on the road in the black hole. It doesn’t matter that Oakland is coming off of a great, if not amazing win in Denver. I still need to go with the Packers. It might be just because they destroyed the Chiefs in Lambeau earlier this season so they must be a great team right? RIGHT? Packers 30, Raiders 20

The Chargers are playing for the draft. Dolphins 20, Chargers 14

AFC West Predicted Standings

Denver (10-4)

Kansas City (9-5)
