For their Week 10 matchup, the 3-5 Kansas City Chiefs travel to Denver to face the 7-1 Broncos. This divisional game will be the second meeting between the two teams this season with Denver taking the first contest 31-24 on a last-second Jamaal Charles fumble returned by Denver’s defense.
With that loss, the Chiefs now have an 0-7 record against the Broncos since Peyton Manning joined the team in 2012. Manning definitely has the advantage over Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith winning all contests between the two, even when Smith led the San Francisco 49ers. This last tilt was easily the closest the Chiefs have come to dethroning the Broncos, having led by a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
For this matchup, the Chiefs are coming off a BYE week and a 35-point beatdown of the Detroit Lions. The Broncos are coming off a tough loss on the road to the Indianapolis Colts, making them angry and dangerous. While the Chiefs looked good in their win against the Lions and the Broncos looked bad against the Colts, a lot of things need to go right for the Chiefs to win this game. For this game preview, we will look at several keys that must be executed in order for the Chiefs to come out of Denver with a “W.”
