There are a few ways you can guarantee that you won’t win in the NFL. Forcing zero turnovers, hitting the opposing quarterback zero times, and scoring zero touchdowns… Those are a few of those ways.
But what’s the real problem for the Chiefs? On this episode of the podcast, I contend that it’s not Alex Smith (or any skill position offensive player) at the top of the list of problems. We knew what this offense would look like, with the exception of the offensive line somehow finding a way to underperform. The problem the Chiefs have is that they built this roster around an elite pass rush and an elite secondary.
What’s wrong with that? Well, in theory, nothing. It’s only a problem now because the Chiefs don’t have either.
