Alright, I told everyone that I would come through with better picks in Week 3, and I delivered. After struggling like a damn fool for two weeks, I rocked a 12-4 mark and showed that I do, in fact, watch football.
It’s time to keep this train rolling with my Week 3 NFL picks. The lines are provided by OddsShark.
Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5)
This is one of those moments where a team is defined. Kansas City (1-2) needs to win this game or face the real possibility of missing the playoffs. Meanwhile, Cincinnati is (3-0) and riding high in the AFC North. I like the Chiefs in this spot because they have to be pissed off, desperate and focused. If they aren’t, there is no fixing them. Plus, Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis.
Pick: Kansas City 24, Cincinnati 20
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
Baltimore (0-3) is looking like a lost cause with a pathetic offense and middling defense, btu Pittsburgh (1-2) is without Ben Roethlisberger and on a short week. It is tough to see the Steelers losing to a team with a guy named Crockett Gilmore on it, but something tells me it is going to happen.
Pick: Baltimore 20, Pittsburgh 16
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (EVEN) … (London)
Who knows? New York (2-1) is not all that good because Ryan Fitzpatrick stinks. Miami (1-2) isn’t good because Ndamukong Suh has become the defensive coordinator, the line can’t block and the secondary is terrible. Plus, Brent Grimes wife is allegedly beating people up in the parking lot. Have to roll with the J-E-T-S.
Pick: New York 22, Miami 17
Houston Texans at Atlanta Falcons (-7)
Atlanta (3-0) does not impress me nearly as much as many others, but an undefeated record commands respect. Houston (1-2) could have Arian Foster back on the roster but this is a team with Ryan Mallett under center. There is no way the Texans win on the road until they get better quarterback play.
Pick: Atlanta 30, Houston 10
