Key number one: Find a way to control the line of scrimmage.

As stated before, Watt is a beast. He is all over the ball no matter where it seems to be on the field. Sacking the quarterback 20 times is a feat doing it a few times is downright insane. Only Justin Houston should be in the same conversation with Watt.

The Chiefs offensive line has struggled this preseason, and struggled and Watt in the same sentence is scary.
Then you add a big, and big is the key word, of former Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork to plug up running lanes and wreak havoc is not looking good for the Chiefs.

If the team wants to walk away from their first game of the season, great play on the offensive line is hands down the first place to start.

Second key to victory: Pass the ball.

Alex Smith finally threw a touchdown pass to a wide receiver. Too bad it was in the preseason and didn’t count.
It is yet another “duh” moment that for the Chiefs to win the game they need to pass the ball. With Watt and Wilfork and possibly number one overall pick Jadeveon Clowney on the line, Charles may not find a lot of room for running against their rush.

The good part is that Smith and Maclin seem to be developing quite the chemistry, evidenced by the good game they had against the Titans. This should hopefully continue over to the first game, and lead to finally a regular season touchdown.

He also has a pretty special tight end in Travis Kelce who will be highly involved in the game as well.
Moving the ball through the air and changing the type of game the team plays will open up so much more for them to do, and show teams they are not one dimensional on offense.

The Chiefs need to pass, pass and pass some more to win in Houston.
