Right Tackle:  Paul Fanaika ain’t it.  But, to be fair, it’s unrealistic of us to expect him to be.  The guy was brought in to Kansas City to be a backup offensive guard.  So sticking him out with the first team at offensive tackle…what did you expect?  The good news is that this is an emergency only situation.  And in the regular season, if the Chiefs were down two offensive tackles, they would probably have brought someone else in.

Jarrod Pughsley continued to impress me some.  He wasn’t a world beater, but I felt like he has a certain amount of potential.  I think he’s a lock for the Practice Squad in 2015.

The big question here is whether or not the Chiefs will stick Jeff Allen at that right tackle spot, or give it back to Donald Stephenson.  I think the preference of the coaching staff is Allen.  It seems to be the go-to move.  Stephenson has played great this preseason…though more so on the left side than the right.  And when I watch him, there are still some moments where he has obviously lost his focus.  Those moments are very dangerous.

There could be some options on the trade market, but I really haven’t seen many worth pursuing.  The tackle position has actually been hit pretty hard this year by injuries, so a lot of guys who could have been available are already scooped up.  There is a premium on the position.  And with the Chiefs options already on the roster, I think it would be a waste of a resource.
