On Monday, I said that I’d rather cover the Masters than write another “sleepers who will surprise at Kansas City Chiefs OTAs” article. Then Thursday rolled around, and I remembered why I ever penned one in the first place; there’s nothing else to talk about.
The end of the draft always marks the beginning of a dead period. Some people will argue that OTAs are a week away, which would be relieving if it meant anything. Let’s be clear: Nothing positive comes from OTAs—at least from a fan’s perspective.
There’s no live contact. There’s a smattering of injuries. Every other tweet is a five-year forecast based on a cone drill. (“He had an impressive workout today. Really looks like he’s coming into his own.” “And with the second pick, the Detroit Pistons select…Darko Milicic.”)
Instead of rattling on about OTAs, let’s focus on what everyone actually cares about: the regular season. Here are a handful of sleepers who, if healthy, will make names for themselves.
